Clipframe Studio does not collect or share any personal data. The app has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking, and it does not send anything to any server.
Screenshots, screen recordings, recognized text and colors are created on your Mac and saved only to the folder you choose and to your clipboard. Text recognition and object cut-out run entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework.
Clipboard history is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, what you copy is kept only on your Mac, in the app's own folder, for up to 7 days (pinned entries until you remove them), so you can copy it again later; it is never sent anywhere. You can pause, limit or clear the history at any time, and leave out any app.
Passwords and keys are not saved by default. To recognize them at the moment you copy, the app checks on your Mac which app the copy comes from (password managers are always skipped), the page address a browser attaches to the copy, the title of the window in front (for example, a .env file open in an editor) and the shape of the text. The window title and the page address are only checked, never stored or sent anywhere.
Protected entries (Clipframe Studio Pro) open only after Touch ID or your Mac's password, checked by macOS; their text is encrypted with a key kept in your login keychain. If you turn on finding text in images, copied images are read on your Mac with Apple's Vision framework, and the text found is kept with the entry.
The microphone and the webcam are used only while you record, and only if you turn them on; their sound and image go only into your recording on your Mac. For auto zoom, the pointer's position during a recording is kept on your Mac with the app's data and never leaves it.
Captions are recognized on your device with Apple's Speech framework, and the voice-over uses the voices built into macOS. Translation uses Apple's on-device Translation framework. The first time you translate or make captions in a language, macOS may download language files from Apple.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; Clipframe Studio only receives confirmation of your entitlement from StoreKit and never sees your payment details.
